Unarmed security guards may be employed by private organizations, companies, individuals and even government agencies.

These jobs may have varying requirements depending on the employer. These workers spend their time monitoring security cameras, patrolling buildings, or driving in marked or unmarked security vehicles.

They assist the company’s health and safety officer/First Aid attendant in the event of an accident or medical emergency. They perform safety checks/audits and to correct or take steps to correct any safety or security hazards.

They generally are assigned to a single building or facility so they can adequately patrol their areas and conduct certain security checks.
